I recently set up an Untangle box on my home network to help filter things and keep my kids less exposed when on the Internet. I'm using OpenVPN for when I'm on the road, and I'm barely able to get 20kbps over the Internet using the VPN! Some details: Box running Untangle: Dual-Core Atom 1.66ghz, 2gb RAM, 120gb hard drive.

Untangle NG Firewall can be used to examine everything, even encrypted traffic over SSL, protect your machines against intrusions, spyware, attacks, malware, filter websites and control applications, enable remote access and site-to-site VPN. The pfsense documentation recommends shared key mode for site to site VPNs, unless there are more than 6 sites. A firewall rule is required on the server node to allow traffic through to the interface and port where the server is running. If not, the traffic will be block and the VPN will never connect. I'd like to setup my untangle fw box, to accept vpn connections to it, so i can connect from my macbook pro to the untangle box, then have access to my server file shares and other things such as printer and stuff from other locations. What i have done so far, setup a vpn connection on the Untangle box, ran the wizard and created a user. With the latest Untangle Promotion Code and Promo Code, you have the chance to get a 20% OFF site wide discount for all purchases that lasts xx days. I recognize that site-to-site VPN are typically a job for other network devices, but I would also say that the entire VPN service on the QNAP is typically also served elsewhere on a different network device. If you are able to access the remote computer over the site to site VPN by IP address and can't access the same computer by host name, it means your DNS server is not able to resolve the domain name and/or host name of the remote computer. And you have to use the correct DNS server address in your network interface settings.
